National Intermodal is pleased to confirm that it has agreed with Qube Holdings Limited (Qube) to purchase its existing option to acquire 1,100 hectares of land at Beveridge, Victoria. The site is strategically located on the designated Inland Rail route, adjacent to the existing north-south passenger and freight rail corridor to and from Melbourne and 40 kilometres north of the Melbourne CBD and the Port of Melbourne.
National Intermodal will continue to work with the Victorian Government, industry and freight customers with a view to developing amodern, state-of-the-art, open access interstate terminal at Beveridge to support the Government’s investment in Inland Rail. As recently announced by the Federal Government, the Beveridge Terminal will be one of two new intermodal terminals planned for Melbourne.
As part of the transaction for National Intermodal to acquire the option rights over the Beveridge land, Qube will have the option to re-acquire up to 200 hectares of land for their own purposes, separate to the proposed National Intermodal terminal.
