National Intermodal Launches Inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan

31 October 2024

National Intermodal is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), signaling a strong commitment to fostering understanding and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while joining a network of over 3,000 organisations dedicated to reconciliation.

The Reflect RAP is the strategic framework for enhancing connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and demonstrates the organisation’s dedication to reconciliation efforts.

“This Reflect RAP enables National Intermodal to deepen its understanding of its sphere of influence and the unique contribution it can make to lead progress,” Karen Mundine, CEO of Reconciliation Australia said.

“Congratulations to National Intermodal, welcome to the RAP program and I look forward to following your reconciliation journey in the years to come.”

James Baulderstone, CEO of National Intermodal, said the Reflect RAP represents a pivotal step in National Intermodal’s mission to build stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities.

“We are committed to listening and ensuring our actions have a positive impact on local communities,” Mr Baulderstone said.

“Our aim is to create pathways for these communities to benefit from the economic, social, and environmental activities delivered by National Intermodal.

“We are grateful for the guidance and support of Reconciliation Australia and our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander advisory groups as we embark on this important path toward reconciliation.”

The Reflect RAP will guide National Intermodal in embedding principles of respect, relationships, opportunity, and governance into all operations. This year, the company plans to actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, aligning its initiatives with the five dimensions of reconciliation: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance.
