In another milestone for Australia’s largest intermodal precinct at Moorebank in Western Sydney, the new Interstate Rail Terminal’s container handling facilities are now under construction and on track for receiving its first interstate freight train in early 2024.

Construction has commenced on the new Interstate Intermodal Terminal at Moorebank Logistics Park in Sydney’s southwest – the first of four modern and interconnected terminals which will enhance Australia’s Supply Chain and drive freight efficiencies between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

National Intermodal is pleased to confirm that it has agreed with Qube Holdings Limited (Qube) to purchase its existing option to acquire 1,100 hectares of land at Beveridge, Victoria.

The Federal Government has today announced Moorebank Intermodal Company will have its mandate expanded to become National Intermodal Corporation (National Intermodal) to support the delivery and operation of intermodal terminals in Melbourne and Brisbane as part of the Government’s $14.5 billion Inland Rail project.

Moorebank Intermodal Company has provided consent to the $1.67 billion acquisition of the warehousing component of the Qube Holdings Ltd Moorebank Logistics Park (MLP) development, paving the way for accelerated investment in the precinct.
